He cherished his role as a grandfather to Bailey, Kaylee, Breighana, Lileighana, Fenix, Ares, Ryker, Brayden, and Hollie, as well as grandson Xavier. David is also survived by his brother, Doug Opper.

David also enjoyed indulging in wild game and often found tinkering with his Harley while listening to classic rock bands like Led Zeppelin.
