Obituary of Irene Rios
Irene Rios, 57, passed away on October 8th, 2024 with her family by her side.
She was born on July 21st, 1967 in Alice, Texas to Santos and Gloria Rios. They would in following years move to La Porte where she would reside most of her life.
She graduated from La Porte High School and then attended San Jacinto College to be in the paramedic program. While attending her mother fell ill and she choose family over her own education as she would be the main caregiver for her mother and eventually her father in his later years. She would from there pursue a career in warehouse management spanning over two decades.
She enjoyed family gatherings and would host barbecues and holiday celebrations at her home near Sylvan beach. She was very sociable and opened her home and heart to many, family and friend alike, often eager to share a bite to eat, and a laugh. She was very proud of her daughter Amanda, who was a great blessing in her life, and who gave her three grandsons.
Irene Is survived by her daughter Amanda Stanis, her son-in-law Christopher Stanis, her three grandsons, Carter, Cameron, and Connor Stanis, as well as her brother Ruben Rios and his wife Diane Rios as well as her other brother Adrian Rios and his wife Deena Rios, and her best friend Sharon Cantrell. She had many nephews and nieces as well.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Gloria and Santos Rios, and her brother Edwardo Rios.
There will be a church service in her honor at St. Mary’s church in La Porte, Texas on October 25th 2024 at 10 am followed by a reception.
