Obituary of Louis "Cotton" Clayton Arthur
Louis Arthur, 93, passed away Sunday December 11, 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents Hugh and Jimmie Baker Arthur, his wife Jenette Arthur, daughter Stephanie Ashlock, fifteen siblings, grandchildren Tammy, Tara, and Brandi and son in law Mike Smith. Left to cherish his memory are his, son Stephen Arthur and wife Vicki; daughter Rebecca Smith; grandchildren Chad, Skye, and Tristan; great-grandchildren, Cody, Pacey, Meagan, Samantha, Thomas, Mia, Cayden, Kate, Katelyn, Krystal, Lucas, and Lacey and a host of other family and friends.
Cotton worked on Tugboats for Brown and Root in his early years. He left Brown and Root and was an electrician for the Dupont Corporation until his retirement. He was a member First Baptist Church of Laporte, where he served as Deacon and was also on the Board of Trustees of the San Jacinto Baptist Association. Cotton was a member of the LaPorte Masonic Lodge. He also served on the LaPorte Citizens Advisory Council. Cotton loved the outdoors and loved hunting and fishing. He was also an awesome domino player.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday December 17, at the Morgan’s Point Cemetery in LaPorte at, 11:00 am with Rev. Randy Gilchrist officiating.
