Obituary of Margarita Martinez
Margarita “Mago” Martinez, 69, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 1, 2022. She is preceded in death by her father Juan Francisco Gomez; mother Rosa Alvarado; brother Andres Gomez Alvarado; and sisters Eloisa Gomez Alvarado and Matilde Gomez Alvarado. Left to cherish Margarita’s memory are her loving husband, of 49 years, Arturo Martinez; sons Manualdo “Manny” Martinez and wife, Sandra, Arturo “Art” Martinez and wife, Nora; daughter Elizabeth Romero and husband, Leonel; brothers Salvador Gomez Alvarado, Jose Manuel Gomez Alvarado; sister Petra Gomez Alvarado; grandchildren Brianna, Christian, Evanie, Sebastian, Nathan, Michael, Anthony, and a host of other family and friends.
Margarita was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who always wanted the best for her family. She enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and she especially loved being able to babysit them. Margarita loved the Lord and was a very caring and giving person who enjoyed helping others. She was a wonderful homemaker who enjoyed keeping her home looking its best. Margarita enjoyed planting and maintaining her beautiful flowers. She enjoyed changing things around the house, and she always looked forward to decorating for the holidays. Margarita was strong and resilient, very optimistic, and extremely determined. She motivated and inspired those around her. She also had a wonderful sense of humor even at the worst of her illness. Margarita loved to talk and communicate with loved ones via phone or text, and she became an expert on social media.
Margarita was very fashionable and always dressed to impress. She enjoyed shopping and loved wearing caps or hats. Wearing makeup was always a must for Margarita as was getting manicures and pedicures. She loved eating out at restaurants, but she also enjoying cooking for her family and hosting family and friends. Margarita especially enjoyed organizing parties. She loved music and enjoyed singing and dancing. Margarita also loved going to Mexico with Arturo to visit family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A visitation and rosary for Margarita are scheduled on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 West Broadway, Pearland, Texas. Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, with the rosary being recited at 6:00 pm. The funeral mass will be held on Friday, November 18, at 10:00 am, at St Helen’s Catholic Church, in Pearland, Texas, with Father Louis Garcia officiating.
