Obituary of Frances P. Martinez

Frances Martinez, 86, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2019.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Delphine Postel; second mom; Minerva Postel; her loving husband of 65 years, Robert Martinez; and eight brothers.  Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Robert Martinez Jr. (Rosalinda), John Anthony Martinez (Aaron); daughters, Angelina Ocampo, Delphina Martinez, Delia Blair (John); brother, Leonard Postel; sisters, Mary Postel, Margaret Baltrip (Mike); grandchildren, Denise, Christopher, Eric, Jason, Victoria, Ray, Mark, Elizabeth, Linda; seventeen great-grandchildren, and a host of other family and dear friends.

Frances was truly the matriarch of her family; not only to her children but also her siblings, nieces and nephews.  She taught everyone that family was extremely important, and love should extend to all areas of the family.  Frances believed love and forgiveness were vital to any healthy relationship and passed those values on to her children.  Her home was also available to extended family and many of the cousins were more like brothers and sisters.  Frances was strong in her faith and taught everyone to be accountable for their own actions. She was an amazing cook and her kitchen was always cooking homemade specialties; whether it was for 2 or 20 people.  Frances greatest joy was her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She enjoyed watching the flowers, birds and squirrels in her backyard.  Frances will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Services for Frances will be held at Clayton Funeral Homes, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581.  The visitation will be held Tuesday, July 9, 2019 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.  The funeral service will take place Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at 11:00 am.
