Obituary of Gene Dair Griffin

Gene Dair Griffin, 90, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2018.  She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Lucille Guy; her loving husband, Virgil “Toad” Griffin; and brother, George D. Guy.  Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Virginia Franklin and husband, Don, Mary L. Conway and husband, Buddy, Patti Powell and husband, Glenn “Al”; grandchildren, Terri, Glenn, Michael, Erik, Kevin, Bryan; great grandchildren, Dalton, Carson, Camryn, Addison, Cody, Wyatt, Claire and Emma; and a host of other family and dear friends.

 

Gene was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother that cherished spending time with her family.  She and Virgil loved traveling all over the world.  Gene enjoyed gardening, reading books and completing crossword puzzles every day.  She kept her mind sharp by playing 42 and teaching her grandchildren how to play poker.  Gene felt strongly about serving her community and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star since 1956.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

 

Services for Gene will be held Monday, October 29, 2018 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581.  The visitation will be held from 12:00 until 1:00 pm with the funeral following at 1:00 pm.  Interment will follow services at SouthPark Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
