Obituary of Billy Ray Gibson

Billy Ray Gibson, 72, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018.  He is preceded in death by his mother, Earlene Gibson.  Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Jessie Gibson; children, Urania and Kevin; grandchildren, John, James, Loren and Lailah; and a host of other family and dear friends.

 

Billy was a devoted husband, father and grandfather that loved his family.  He cared deeply about his community and was a member of the Prince Hall Masonic Lodge Mc Nair Atomic #327 for many years.  Billy loved sports and was an avid Houston Astros fan.  He especially enjoyed playing golf and cooking his favorite recipes.  Some of his favorite pastimes were listening to Jazz music and working the Sunday morning crossword puzzles.  He cherished his family and looked forward to every opportunity he had to spend time with his grandchildren.  Billy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

 

Services for Billy will be held at Bayshore Baptist Church, 11315 Spencer Highway, La Porte, Texas 77571.  The visitation will be held Thursday, October 11, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.  The funeral service will take place Friday, October 12, 2018 at 10:00 am.  Interment will follow at Jiel-Huntley Cemetery in Crockett, Texas.
